Introduction

I don't know if you're a hockey player or not, but I get a lot of questions about my favorite sport. The most popular seems to be "Why do you like soccer so much?" I think it's because soccer is just so much fun. It's an exciting sport and one that requires so many skills at once! You have to be fast, strong, agile and graceful all at the same time! That's why I love Ali Krieger so much -- she plays for the Washington Spirit (a team in the National Women's Soccer League) and she has amazing skills on the field. But since this isn't about sports...

"The one thing you can control is your effort. So if you do that to the best of your ability, there's nothing more you can ask of yourself." -- Ali Krieger

Ali Krieger is a retired American soccer defender who played for the United States women's national team and Boston Breakers in the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) league. She won two Olympic gold medals, two World Cup championships and an FIFA Women's World Cup title with the USWNT.

She was also named one of the 20 greatest players in USWNT history by ESPN The Magazine, and has been inducted into numerous halls of fame including those at Harvard University and NCAA Hall-of-Fame lists.

The one thing you can control is your effort

The one thing you can control is your effort.

You can't control other people, or the weather. You can't control what other people think or say about you or what they do to try and manipulate your behavior for their own benefit (which is usually not helpful).

But here's something that truly matters: whether we like it or not, we have an enormous amount of power over ourselves! We have the ability to choose how much energy and effort goes into whatever it is that we're doing—whether that be studying for a test or working out at the gym—and this will determine whether our success comes as easily as possible!

Conclusion

We hope this article has inspired you to be more active in your life. While there may always be things beyond our control (like the weather!), we can make choices about how we spend our time and energy. We have the power to take care of ourselves and live happy, healthy lives!
